New Life Presbyterian Church > Ministries > Men's Retreat 2010

The 2011 New Life Men's Retreat will be held Friday March 11 through Sunday morning, March 13, 2011.

Information about the retreat is available below:

Theme

Calling all men! Attend our mountaintop retreat for a spirit-filled time of fun, fellowship and encouragement as we explore how to be a leader in your home and workplace!

Pastors Ted Hamilton, Kevin Daane and Rip Pratt will lead great discussions on our roles at home and work. Fun activities include horseback riding, paint ball, archery, skeet shooting, a rifle range, fishing, hiking and team sports like volleyball, basketball and softball.

Enjoy Christian fellowship, make new friends, enjoy the outdoors and discover how to overcome common challenges men face.

Location

The retreat will be held at Palomar Christian Conference Center. You can see details on the camp's Web site at www.pccc.org. Note that the camp also provides driving directions on their Web site. (We provided directions separately to registrants prior to the retreat as well.)

Directions to the Camp

The camp tells us that it is CRITICAL that you use the directions on their website, NOT Mapquest, GPS, or other web-based guides. They warn that you will get lost if their directions are not followed. If you are driving, please make special note of this. We have been distributing hard copies of the directions, from the camp's website, at the registration table on Sunday mornings, and will continue to do so, or you can access them by the link on the camp's website, or, directly, here: http://www.pccc.org/Directions.pdf

Cost

The cost of the retreat is $129 per person for dorm-style accommodations, or $179 per person for motel-style semi-private accommodations (4 people per room). This fee includes room and food.

Please pay this at the time that you register-in any event, no later than Sunday, February 27, 2011. Because space is limited, please be advised that we cannot consider your place on the retreat secured until payment has been received (or arranged for with financial assistance).

You can pay with cash or with a check. If you write a check, make it out to "New Life Presbyterian Church" and write "Men's Retreat" in the memo section (lower left portion of the check). Please be advised that, as the planning committee understands things, your retreat costs are NOT tax-deductible as donations to the church.

Payments are best made during registration periods on Sundays starting on January 31 and running through the month of February. Look for a signup table during the fellowship time. If you are not able to sign up and make payment in person on one of the Sundays, please contact John Robertus (john.robertus@att.net) to make arrangements for payment.

    The registration charge covers:

    • 2 nights (Friday and Saturday)
    • 5 meals (Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast)
    • A long list of activities

Some activities are offered at a small additional cost. More recreation details will be provided soon.

Financial assistance: Some limited funds are available through the church to defray the cost for those men who need assistance. If you need assistance, please let us know-we can work with you. Contact John Robertus for the details (john.robertus@att.net).
