We want to welcome the children of families who attend New Life Presbyterian Church. Our goal in all our activities is to show the children Jesus, His love and His work. So we teach children who God is, what He has done, and what our response should be — through Biblical instruction, singing, hands-on activities, and group interaction. We love our New Life kids!

Our desire, as well, is to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for the children and those adults and teens caring for our children. Our full child-care policy is available upon request. It prohibits sexual, physical, mental, or emotional misconduct by the children's caregivers. We carefully screen all potential teachers and helpers to avoid placement of a known offender or at-risk individual. We have periodic training for those working with children to keep them vigilant and careful as they work with the children. In addition, we encourage children to discuss all they hear and learn with their parents.

The following services are provided for children:

  • Nursery (newborn through 36 months of age on Sundays): Infants and toddlers are cared for by competent, screened adults and teens in the nursery during the Sunday morning worship services and during Sunday School. The nursery is also available during most other activities. Check your bulletin for specifics.

  • Children's Church during Sunday services: Children who are 3 years old through Kindergarten age may be dismissed after the first part of the worship service (an announcement is verbally made - also check your bulletin for the exact place in the worship service) to attend their own worship time geared for their learning level. Children's Church meets upstairs in Room 6. Parents need to sign their children in to begin and out afterwards. Together, we learn about God and praise him in worship; then there is a craft that pertains to the Bible study of the day.

  • Children's Bulletin: This is available to all youngsters who remain in the worship services. Presented in a child-friendly format, the children's bulletin helps listeners follow along with the sermon and pick out the main points.

  • Sunday School at 9:30 a.m.: Following the first worship service, Sunday School classes are available for children ages 3 through fifth grade. The Sunday School time is when children learn the basics of the Bible and how they should respond to God's Word. Younger children also do a craft to remind them of the Bible story they learned. Check the bulletin to see where the classes are held for different age groups.

  • Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m.: During our Family Night there are classes for all ages. Children in Kindergarten and below need to be signed in and out in the Nursery. There’s a Nursery for children who are younger than four. Next to the Nursery, in Room 3, children 4 years old through Kindergarten meet and learn the Children’s Catechism through Bible stories and activities. At the same time, boys in first through fifth grades meet with Giborims upstairs in Room 6, and girls in first through fifth grades meet with Girls of Faith in Room 5 upstairs.

  • Vacation Bible School: For kids ages four through going into sixth grade, Vacation Bible School will be August 6 - 10, 2012 For more information about last year's VBS, click here.
